Most of the time site owners invested a lot of time and effort in their sites and Adword Campaigns. But the site still doesn’t pay off.

Common Success Pattern

In the last 12 years we have developed a lot of eBusiness Projects. Some were big and international. Others small and for a niche market. But after all, all these eBusiness Applications have something in common:

They all communicate with human beings.

And if we want to target human beings we have to take care of them. We have to talk to them in a language they understand. And this language is not the language they are speaking. It is the language of their mind. Target your clients mind an you sell. Sounds simple. And it is. Of course after some work.

7 steps to optimized eBusiness

We identified 7 key elements of successful eBusiness Applications. Follow them step by step and you’ll be fine.

  • Step 1: Performance Setup
    • Define only relevant key performance indicators (KPI)
    • Do an in-depth analysis of your site performance
    • Set your business goals and create an effective strategy by doing a SWOT analysis
  • Step 2: User Targeting
    • Get an insight of your targeted market including language, symbols and keywords
    • Analyse your visitors paths
    • Define the paths you want your visitors to take
  • Step 3: Content Optimization
    • Define the wording of your market
    • Set the wording for images and navigation elements
    • Find target-relevant keywords and apply SEO techniques
  • Step 4: Design & Usability
    • Check for common Usability techniques
    • Optimize images, colors and navigation elements
    • Use Web 2.0 feats decent
  • Step 5: Code and Database Tuning
    • Assure correct HTML and CSS coding
    • Tune all database tables involved in poly-used tasks to SPEED
    • Insist on elaborated information architecture
  • Step 6: Market Expansion
    • Consider a continuous user-flow from attention to action (AIDA)
    • Use Bid Management tools and Affiliate Networks wisely
    • Think before you advertise and test your campaigns with Taguchi and A/B
  • Step 7: Profit Tuning
    • Use psychological models like RFM to raise your turnover
    • Set up pricing strategies for each client segment
    • Hedge your market with social networking

A mystery unveiled: What clients really want

A lot of books and “gurus” tell us to find out what our client wants is the straight way to success. But I gonna tell you what your clients really want: They want NOTHING from you. Yes. Nothing. They want to be left alone. Pay for the beer and leave them. They don’t want your funny boring ads on TV, newspapers, websites and wallboards. Just in case, in small case they want something from your: the best price. And guaranteed, please.

Why is that? After all you have done for them. You paid for their free-TV movies, football games and entertainment events.
It’s because this is a buyers market, so don’t mind.

If you want to optimize your ebusiness, be aware of becoming a slave to your market. Never ever let the field tell you what to do. Listen to them but do what you believe in.
Lead the field! You are the Boss.

Is Google an eBusiness Site?

What do you think? Are they making money on the web or at the trading floor? Both! Yo. thats it. Before 2000 internet companies were making money on the floor, but since the last couple of years they have to make money on the Web. Web 2.0 to and fro. Google is doing it. And not only because they have a neat business plan they also do a lot of optimizing on their site and on their indexes and algorithms. Every day. Thats why they succeed and stay in front of the others. Because they optimize. And Optimizing is about making money – more money. And Business is about money.
